Airplane ticket

The old paper ticket has now been replaced by airlines with an electronic ticket (E-ticket). Passengers will therefore need to present themselves at check-in with their booking code accompanied by a valid ID.

Before embarking on a trip, it is important to verify the identity and health documents required by the authorities of the destination country. Any irregularities could indeed result in being denied entry to the country.

Identity documents

Identity card

The identity card valid for expatriation allows entry into European Union countries, as well as some non-EU countries, limited to trips organized by Tour Operators. For more information, you can visit the Viaggiare Sicuri website.

Passport

The passport allows access to all countries in the world whose governments are recognized by the Italian government. For some countries, an entry visa is also required. More information is available on the Polizia di Stato website.

For travel to the United States of America: if you are traveling for tourism and/or business with a round-trip ticket and plan to stay no longer than 90 days, you can use the Visa Waiver Program, carefully checking all the required conditions.

Driver's license

The driver's license is not a valid document for expatriation, and abroad, it may not be recognized as an identity document.

Vaccinations

To safeguard your health, always check if the destination country requires vaccinations or recommends specific preventive measures. All useful information is available on the Viaggiare Sicuri website.
