Inside the passenger terminal of Trieste airport pets and animals, dogs in particolar, have to be kept either on leash wearing a muzzle or to be kept inside a cage

 

 

Carriage information

 

Small animals

They can travel in the passenger cabin, provided they are carried inside a small dedicated cage responding to airline rules and characteristics (cage to be provided by the passenger). Advance booking is compulsory.

 

Big animals

They can travel only in the dedicated area (pressurised, lit and heated) of the bellyhold; They will ahve to be closet inside a cage responding to airline rules and characteristics, where they will have to be able to stand and move (cage to be provided by the passenger). Advance booking is compulsory.
Information on carriage costs (varying according to the airline, destination and weight) have to be asked directly to the carrier.
 
When travelling inside the EU, animals need to have:
 
  • the EU passport (issued by local veterinary services);
  • the Rabies vaccination;
  • the microchip / tattoo for electronic identification.
 
Animals entering some countries like the UK, Ireland, Malta and Sweden will undergo to specific rules and restrictions.
